Meet "Gypsy"
After several months without any big birds in the store, we are proud to have our newest addition, "Gypsy - The Blue and Gold Macaw" Gypsy is a 2-year-old female Macaw and is quickly becoming a favourite to visitors at our store. A self-proclaimed "Pretty Girl" she has the potential of learning many words and phrases throughout her average 80 year lifespan. Macaws are one of the most sought-out parrots due to their personalities and highly trainable traits. Once you win their trust, you will have a lifetime companion. Ara ararauna, sometimes also called the Blue & Yellow Macaw, is a native of a wide region of South America, almost the entire northern half of the continent. Althought their numbers in the wild are diminishing, captive breeding is doing it's part to keep this species going. Drop in and visit her. She'll instantly win her way into your heart. A very reasonable price: $1700.00 Including her cage Sorry Sold! |

The Bush Baby - Galagos
This cute little guy just arrived today! This nameless Male Bush Baby is 5 years old and is cute as hell! Also called Galagos (subfamily Galaginae), they are part of the Loris family of nocturnal primates. They have fluffy fur, small pointed faces with large eyes, and naked, highly mobile ears. The very large eyes are adapted for nocturnal vision and their pupils contract so as to be almost invisible. The long hind legs are specialized for jumping; the fingers and toes are long and slender, with fleshy terminal pads; and the thumb and big toe are opposable. Extremely swift and agile, bush babies leap like squirrels from branch to branch and hop on their hind legs on the ground. They feed on gums, insects, fruit, and vegetable matter. They are gregarious and spend much time grooming each other with their front teeth. A unique find to be sure. Available now at only $1200.00 CAD Sorry, SOLD! |

The Fly River Turtle
Now here is a rare find in the pet industry! These magnificent turtles are known to be VERY hard to breed in captivity, giving it its rare availabiltity status in pet stores. Also known as the Pig Nose Turtle, (Carettochelys insculpta) these are a fully aquatic turtles species which tend to be a little on the shy side and somewhat intollerant to sharing their space with others of their species. (Although fine together when young, we had to separate ours after they grew up a bit!) Ours are captive bred, but they can be found in the wild in Australia and New Guinea. At maturity they will weigh up to 50 pounds and reach a shell diameter of about 22". They have light colored jaws and a similarly colored streak over the eye. The shell is covered with skin and has a median keel near the back. The plastron is somewhat small but still forms a plate. Being mostly aquatic, they have developed paddle-shaped limbs with two claws per limb. The top of the tail has a single line of scales. Males can be distinguished from females by their larger tails. We have had this pair in our store for quite some time now. (Over a year now!) They have always been good eaters and at times show some real personality. The above pictire is quite old now, and the white spots around the outter part of their shell have all but disappeared (they lose these as the grow). Chances are, these might now appear again in the pet industry (at least at our end). In fact, as the supply dwindled, the price from our supplier doubled!! However, we got them while the price was still low. Expect to pay twice as much anywhere else now. In the interest of finding these guys a better home, we have reduced the price! Was: $450.00, now ONLY $375.00!! Act now! Sorry, BOTH SOLD! |

Skinny Pig (aka: House Hippo)
Skinny pigs typically have hair on their paws and at the crowns of their heads, but nude over the remainder of their bodies. Because of their lack of hair people who are normally unable to have normal guinea pigs, or other animals that make them sick from fur and dust, are able to keep as many as they want without problem. Now Available at only: $85.00 Sorry! Sold out!
Baby Chinchillas
The fur of this species is extremely dense and soft. Each hair usually has a black tip, and as many as 60 hairs grow out of one follicle. The ventral side is usually bluish, pearl, or brownish gray, and the belly is yellowish-white. Its tail is furry with coarse hairs on the dorsal surface. The head is broad and the external ears are large. Chinchillas have large, black eyes with a vertical split pupil, vestigial cheek pouches, and incisors with colored enamel . Both the forefoot and hindfoot have four digits with stiff bristles surrounding the weak claws. We have babies at: $100.00
