Meet "Gypsy"

After several months without any big birds in the store, we are proud to have our newest addition, "Gypsy - The Blue and Gold Macaw"

Gypsy is a 2-year-old female Macaw and is quickly becoming a favourite to visitors at our store.  A self-proclaimed "Pretty Girl" she has the potential of learning many words and phrases throughout her average 80 year lifespan.

Macaws are one of the most sought-out parrots due to their personalities and highly trainable traits. Once you win their trust, you will have a lifetime companion. 

Ara ararauna, sometimes also called the Blue & Yellow Macaw, is a native of a wide region of South America, almost the entire northern half of the continent. Althought their numbers in the wild are diminishing, captive breeding is doing it's part to keep this species going.
